Meet Our Leadership

Lead Pastor

Greg Sipe

Greg grew up in the church as a preacher’s kid. He trusted Christ at the age of eight and was baptized by his father. He is a Baylor University graduate where he majored in Radio/TV Communications. While Greg was working at KWTX-TV in Waco as a sports and news videographer, he was also doing youth ministry at FBC McGregor, Texas. God called Greg to drop his camera and lights and follow Him in serving churches in full time ministry in Iowa Park, Denison, Wichita Falls, Palestine, and Tomball. After serving the Lord in Youth Ministry for over 30 years God placed Greg in a church-plant called Church 1:37 as Pastor.

Greg has been happily married to Kristi for 30+ years and is blessed with three awesome children; Savana, Landry, and Gentry. During Greg’s free time he loves to go on dates with his wife, be daddy to his children, and spend family time with the Sipe Five. He also enjoys shooting and editing videos, watching football, and going on cruises.

His heart for Church 1:37 beats to seeing people experience that nothing is impossible with God and to have an encounter with Jesus in their lives from the inside out. (Mark 2:1-12) Greg loves the church! His desires for Church 1:37 is to Bring’em In, Build’em Up, and Send’em Out! It’s about bringing them into the church to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s about building up people in the church and in homes all over Tomball. It’s about sending them out of the church, at the end of a worship service. As well as sending them out into the mission field, called the work place, schools, neighborhoods, and homes. Greg is ready at any time to give out a hug, a pat on the back, fist bump, high five, or a sic’em bear’s hand claw.

At the tender age of 8, Kristi made a profound decision to trust Jesus as her Lord and Savior, setting the foundation for her lifelong dedication to spiritual values. Her deep-seated faith became a guiding force, reflected in her favorite scripture, Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you.”

She not only pursued education at Midwestern State University but also embarked on a career path that demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout this journey, Kristi has been a devoted mother to her three children—Savana, Landry, and Gentry. While facing the challenges that life may present, Kristi’s resilience and unwavering faith shine through. She and her husband, Pastor Greg Sipe, have served the Tomball community for over 17 years, standing side by side in their commitment to making a positive impact.

Kristi Sipe

Pastor Assistant / Children's Minister

Kristi is blessed with the privilege of serving as the Pastoral Assistant and Children’s Minister at Church 1:37. She is married to her best friend (Pastor Greg) for 31 years and counting and they have 3 kids! Savana, Landry, and Gentry.   She is so thankful to be a part of this church family and witness first hand what God is doing!

God is writing this vision for the Children’s Ministry and she loves following His leading.  It is the churches job and calling to make sure we equip both the children and their parents with the resources and support to nurture young hearts and minds to grow and fall in love with Jesus! We believe in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Kristi loves to decorate, plant flowers, bake, watch old movies, and most of all spend time with family.

Luke 1:37 “Nothing is impossible with God.” This verse has been at the center of pastor Gregs ministry for over 30 years. Kristi wrote this verse on a pink piece of paper before one of his sermons when they first met. Ever since then this verse has stuck with Greg, Kristi, their marriage, their family, all through Greg’s 35+ years of leading youth ministry and, is what Church 1:37 was built upon!

Check out our story video down below, you will see how Church 1:37 is a living example of Luke 1:37.

The Beginning Of Church 1:37

The Impossible Became Possible

The Living Room

livingroom 2

In this living room on the evening of May 19, 2016, thirty people gathered at the Sipe House to check on the Sipe family! We all had no clue that God brought everyone to receive the calling to start Church 1:37. Each one left totally changed from an encounter with God!

God Spoke

On May 20, 2016 Kristi Sipe received the confirmation she had been praying for. on her bookshelf was her old high school Bible. She noticed a pen was serving as a bookmark in the middle of her Bible. She opened it up and saw 1 Chronicle 22:19 starred. After reading the verse she felt snowflakes fall on her. It was God confirming to “Begin To Build The Sanctuary Of The Lord.” God spoke to Greg that same morning during a mens Bible study with a call that a warehouse was available to start a church in, at no cost.

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God existing in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Son of God, the Word made flesh, who traded heaven to come to earth in order to show man who God is and to become the Savior of the world.

We believe that only by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross can man find the basis for forgiveness of sin. Salvation only comes when one puts faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus as a sufficient payment for their sin and salvation is eternally secured.

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. Christians seek to live under His leadership daily.

We believe the whole Bible is the inspired Word of God and that the Holy Spirit moved men to write the very words of Scripture, showing that nothing is impossible with God. The Bible is without error and is the final authority for our lives.

We believe the church is the body of Christ made up of those who have trusted in finished work of Jesus Christ. The head of the body is Jesus who leads the church in the mission of proclaiming His story of hope to all nations and loving God in our relationship with Him.

We believe that all men are created in the image of God and creatively designed to have fellowship with God. However, man sinfully disobeyed God, separating themselves from God. Man cannot by their own means, bring themselves back into right standing with God.

We believe that every Christian should live for the glory of God and not their own fame. The Christian life is a daily commitment to obey God’s Word and to yield to the Spirit as God continues to conform each believer into the image of Jesus.

The Home

We strive to make church 1:37 a home. Every person that visits our church will have the opportunity to be a part of every room in Gods house. Each room has the purpose to experience more of God, deepen their spiritual life, and have broader fellowship with other believers. The more rooms you experience the more Church 1:37 will be home. Don’t stay on the porch!
